Generally I rate films/shows/shorts as if I was grading a paper. Nothing's ever gotten 100, and most settle in the B- to C+ range, which I generally consider decent.

I've rated a handful of 0's, though.

84 84% Barbie (2023) - Rated 03 Jan 2024
"Boiled down, it's about identity and expectation and being confined in ways where you know you aren't happy, and finding ways to do something about that, even when the world's too big a stage for us to usually effect, so instead, we choose how we regard ourselves, and others. On top of all that, it's funny, it's incredibly self-aware of the world and its power structures. All the while Mattel's a hell of a good sport while it tells this tale through the eyes of its dolls."

82 76% The Jungle Book (2016) - Rated 18 Aug 2023
"Loses 10 points for Christopher Walken as King Louie, Shere Khan's motives are a little fuzzier at parts- but I liked a lot of the rest of it- I thought Baloo especially was much more fleshed out for motive."
83 80% Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023) - Rated 01 Aug 2023
"I didn't love everything about this, but: it really does approach it from the idea, what if 'teenage' was the focus of TMNT and they behaved like actual teens. The animation style is all its own, the plot deals with one of the major issues facing the turtles and all other mutants. It's funny enough, laughed out loud a handful of times. Not entirely a fan of how they did Splinter in terms of a little gross-out here and there, but I did like how he was done in a lot of other ways. Chars are solid."
64 25% Black Mirror (2011) - Rated 16 Jul 2023
"This show just... depresses me. It's not that it doesn't make me think, but it makes me think negatively. It's less about stories of deep connections and more about how technology complicates or ruins them."
95 98% Nimona (2023) - Rated 09 Jul 2023
74 42% Love, Death & Robots (2019) - Rated 28 May 2023
"Hard to judge a whole series when each vignette is its own production, but it seems to rely on heavy gore and violence, and the plots either have been done before or aren't too deep. Not to my taste."
