Watch it as a two person character drama, not a romance. It's more along the lines of the Before series than a typical Hindi rom-com. If you watch it that way, it is irresistible. If you watch it as a rom-com, you will keep waiting for something to "happen".

Fan (2016) - Rated 22 May 2020

Brilliant movie, if you have enough background on it. Shahrukh Khan plays himself-but-not as a movie star, and also the fan of the same movie star. the film weaves reality (like the birthday crowds filmed outside Shahrukh's house) with fiction. It may see unbelievable, but the least believable parts are the ones actually based in reality.

3 Idiots (2009) - Rated 22 May 2020

It's a good movie, but the more I rewatch it, the less I like it. Hirani tends to these pat simple answers to complex problems, while avoiding placing blame. The forces that drive and profit from the education system are never questioned, or punished. And the female characters are after thoughts, their concerns not confronted.

1 - Nenokkadine (2014) - Rated 22 May 2020

I love this movie, although it may not be for anyone. the plot is so insane it crosses over to brilliant, and the film tricks are subtle and complex to show us when what we are saying is real or not.

Virus (2019) - Rated 22 May 2020

A little overly complex, with the typical Malayalam slow start, but ultimately a very well constructed film with a nice message of people pulling together.

The Untouchables (1987) - Rated 22 May 2020

This is a ridiculous movie, a Chicago where noble police forces defeat evil criminals. and occasionally also ride horses. It's also very fun to watch.

Ocean's Eleven (2001) - Rated 22 May 2020

A very fun movie with a plot that falls apart if you think too much about it. So, don't think about it!

One, Two, Three (1961) - Rated 22 May 2020

Jimmy Cagney is a kick in this movie, which treads the line of pretending to make fun of Communists but actually making fun of people who are afraid of them
