Bio: I rate films based on whether I find them entertaining by modern standards. I don't give any leeway or "bonus points" just because something's old or foreign or obscure.
A+ 10 : movies to put in a capsule and shoot out into space to explain to aliens what humanity was about. Own a copy.
A 9 : rock solid movie, incredibly engaging and has something very special about it. Own a copy.
A- 8 : good enough to be a must-see but not a must-own. usually has a bit more "artistic" content than a B+
B+ 7 : Significantly better than the average movie, fun and probably worth your time, but wasn't produced or conceived to the level of the A's. More casual movies.
B 6 : is it worth your time? flip a coin
B- 5 : ehhh
C+ 4 : kind of crappy
C 3 : getting into shit territory
C- 2 : pretty damn bad
D 1 : aggravatingly awful. complete waste of your time.

"**Spoilers** Was fun to watch for all the cutting edge special effects for the time, but the 60's misogyny didn't age well. Has some iconic bond things like the penis laser and Oddjob was badass. The incredible John Barry score did a lot of heavy lifting here. Rapey sex scene, james bond literally foils the villain's plot by sexing the enemy lady with his dick so good that she switches sides and betrays her boss. Stupid! Handled asian people surprisingly well, was expecting it to be racist."

"had incredible woods-feel but I was expecting more out of the whole set up. felt to me like they were planning more but ran out of time and just slapped a quick weird ending together. I was expecting to see them build the camp and then bad things start happening, the villagers fighting back, etc."

"I expected this to be like the excellent "Marona's Fantastic Tale" except with a donkey instead of a dog, except unlike in Marona's, in this you never really got to know either the donkey or the people he encountered well enough. Everyone was flat cardboard cutouts. I was expecting to be crying a lot but I didn't cry once, and neither did my gf who was initially reluctant to watch it because she normally can't handle cruelty to animals, but even she was mostly unphased."
