Shark Whisperer (2025) - Rated 02 Jul 2025
"Not incredibly riveting, but still groundbreaking in that Ocean has done what few others have ever or will ever do. It was very cool to watch, and the photography skills were top notch. Ocean and Juan care for these creatures in a way that many do not, and I think this documentary is an important step in the direction of shark conservation."

"May is a likeable main character despite her many flaws. I was fully on board from the beginning, lost me at a few moments, but the ending was very fitting."

Bride of Frankenstein (1935) - Rated 27 Jun 2025
"Marginally better than the first. Both excelled in the endings more than anything else. I don't like the failure of continuity between the first film and this one, and it's a bit on the silly side which detracts from the messaging, I think. I appreciate the somewhat feeble attempt to humanize the monster more like was done in the book, even if the film does fall significantly short of that goal. But again, a classic, worthy of a watch."

Frankenstein (1931) - Rated 27 Jun 2025
"An interesting take on Mary Shelley's book. It pales in comparison - lacking much of the emotive writing that makes the book such a prize. The "monster" is very one-dimensional, at least until the end. I feel like they could have left several scenes of the angry villagers with pitchforks and the wedding scenes out and added more depth to the character, like in the book - but still a worthy classic."

The Holy Mountain (1973) - Rated 26 Jun 2025
"Incredibly weird and morbid. It was like a car wreck; I wanted to look away, but I couldn't."
