"What's most impressive is how Shinkai makes a plot that could be seen as goofy and contrived and brings solid humor, artistic flair, and twists and turns that actually come together to make sense in the end."

"A little dumb. Writing was predictable and mechanical. Some good laughs and at least felt kind of like a comic, without bothering with a cohesive plot, unlike some other superhero movies of recent years. Probably good for kids and anybody who wants a dopamine rush."
|72 T4||The Fate of the Furious (2017) - Apr 22, 2017
"A definite decline from 7, this film toes the line between a completely senseless and inconceivable plot development, and engrossingly clever, astonishing, and well-executed action sequences. With a great villain and the old crew back together, it still worked, but you can tell it wasn't just right."

"An adequate homage, of sorts, and reimagining of the anime film from 1995, although for a fan of the original, one may make comparisons during key sequences and repeatedly find this rendition notably inferior. Still, with refreshingly impressive performances from supporting roles like Takeshi Kitano and Kaori Momoi, and decent stylization, I'm not mad I paid to see this. It has to be Cowboy Bebop next."
