We Sail at Midnight (1943) - Rated 16 Jan 2026
Compared to other propaganda films from the same studio (Crown Film Unit) and era, this is mediocre stuff. Predictable plot, wooden stilted dialogue, few attempts to humanise anything. What saves it from oblivion is some excellent camerawork. It's also a good sales pitch for a command economy, which will appeal to some.

Sink the Bismarck! (1960) - Rated 23 Jan 2025
Impressive technical details but a poor screenplay and ridiculously stereotyped Germans.
