54 12% You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010) - Dec 07, 2010
"The film touches quite a number of relationships and tries mainly to present the disappointment they might bring. Funny how the cast also manages to disappoint! Also, why does Woody not do what he's good at(say writing), and lets other people direct his stuff, his direction is really getting more disappointing by every score he makes. But despite all the things that disappointed me, I almost enjoyed it. He mocks some things quite successfully if nothing else"
64 21% Lady Vengeance (2005) - Sep 07, 2010
"I didn't really find myself enjoying it at times, but I must mention the simple but yet nicely crafted revenge plan I absoluteley adored. Park's look on punishment and revenge presented not only in this film, but throughout the whole trilogy, is interesting in two ways: in the sense of a message and also visually - I liked how ruthless the bad and the 'good' guys are. Despite not ranking them especially high, I recommend the three films to anyone."
87 82% Children of Men (2006) - Nov 05, 2009
"I quite enjoyed this one - kind of made me wonder. Have to say some things could have been made better(not the directing, I absolutely loved some shots from Bexhill, when the uprising is happening), but I don't remember the last movie that gave me chills. "
79 54% Where the Wild Things Are (2009) - Dec 20, 2009
"Liked it a lot, but was kind of confused.I got the feeling as if the film didn't know what it wants to be - a story for kids or something more. There were some great things about it, that really got to me(first 10 minutes of the film for example, marvellous!), but sometimes it felt...well, silly. But after all, a child's mind is kind of silly - I remembered the stories I used to make up in my mind as a kid."
83 70% Headhunters (2011) - Sep 23, 2012
"Well, if the plot was just a bit more ridiculous, it could pass as a parody of every other thriller. But it somehow manages to get away with being a decent crime thriller and an enjoyable watch. I recommend it"
71 32% Wild Grass (2009) - Nov 23, 2009
"Refreshing, I guess? After what set off to be (a great) thriller with some quite funny lines, the movie suddenly turned into a comedy for a while. But I can't say I didn't like it. The romantic relationship that comes out of it all, and the way it comes to it actually is both thrilling and funny. Some things should be developed more though - some of wife's actions seemed in no relation to plot whatsoever and left me totally baffled, for example. I should re-watch it. I recommend"
87 82% Harry Brown (2009) - Nov 29, 2010
"Damn, Caine is good. I love how he goes Rorschach style berserk. I got goose bumps during the scene, when he is buying guns. I could freaking smell that shit hole. "
79 54% Shutter Island (2010) - Mar 18, 2010
"This started off really great - the brilliant music, which kept the suspense up over the whole film, really made an impression at the very beginning. The story got a bit confused and it seemed like as if it was edited sloppy, but all that goes perfectly with the story and is, if not really necessary, a great help to putting everything together at the end. Also: is creepier than expected, but not in a bad way. I recommend "
92 95% The City of Lost Children (1995) - Nov 29, 2009
"Jeunet and Caro create another grotesque, dark and cruel world, where love is hard to be found. Outstanding acting, great photography, superb soundtrack. And above it all, an amazing story about people(some good, some bad), searching happiness - may that for them be love, power and money or 'just' dreams. "
87 82% Inception (2010) - Jul 23, 2010
"At first I thought it was like an upgraded version of The Matrix trilogy, but then I figured out it is actually much less. But still, very much, if not even more entertaining - I was indeed left wanting more after the end. "
