Paris, je t'aime (2006) - Rated 06 Apr 2025
"Mixed bag. Some segments are charming, others feel pointless or pretentious. The city’s beauty is undeniable, but the storytelling lacks consistency. Too many clichés, not enough emotional depth. A few shorts stand out, but most are forgettable. It feels more like a tourism ad than a film. Overall, it’s just okay—watchable, but far from impressive."
Gerald's Game (2017) - Rated 01 Apr 2025
"tense, psychological thriller that keeps you uneasy from start to finish. Carla Gugino delivers a strong performance, carrying much of the film solo. The pacing drags a bit in the middle, and some elements feel too surreal, but the atmosphere and character depth are solid."
The Last Seduction (1994) - Rated 27 Mar 2025
"decent noir thriller with a standout performance by Linda Fiorentino as the cold, manipulative femme fatale. The plot is twisty and entertaining, though it leans on clichés and loses steam in the second half. It’s stylish and sharp in parts but not as clever as it thinks it is. Overall, worth a watch, but nothing groundbreaking. Solid, but not memorable."
The Comfort of Strangers (1990) - Rated 21 Mar 2025
"Feels like a beautifully shot but ultimately pointless film. Despite strong performances and eerie atmosphere, the plot goes nowhere and leaves you confused rather than intrigued. It tries to be mysterious and unsettling, but ends up feeling hollow. Visually stylish, yes—but lacking substance."
Los parecidos (2015) - Rated 16 Mar 2025
"Delivers a weird, gripping atmosphere with a retro sci-fi tone. Its Twilight Zone inspiration is clear, and the setting is claustrophobic in a good way. While the pacing lags at times and some twists feel forced, the originality and mood carry it through. Worth a watch if you enjoy surreal, low-budget thrillers."
Legend (1985) - Rated 14 Mar 2025
"The plot is generic, the characters flat, and the pacing drags. It relies too heavily on style over substance, offering little more than fantasy clichés wrapped in pretty visuals. A disappointing experience."
How I Live Now (2013) - Rated 07 Mar 2025
"visually striking dystopian drama that blends romance and survival in a war-torn UK. Saoirse Ronan delivers a strong performance as Daisy, an American teen forced to adapt when war erupts. The film excels in atmosphere and tension but stumbles in pacing and character depth. The love story feels rushed, yet the raw emotional impact lingers"
Exorcism (1975) - Rated 05 Mar 2025
"A complete disaster. The script is stupid and incoherent, the acting is beyond terrible, and the so-called “sadistic” protagonist is anything but. Once again, BDSM is misrepresented in the most ridiculous way possible. The pacing is slow, the story goes nowhere, and the film fails at being horror, thriller, or even sleazy fun. Pure garbage—avoid at all costs."
Threads (1984) - Rated 04 Mar 2025
"Grim and realistic take on nuclear war, showing how society collapses after an attack. The documentary style makes it feel authentic, and while it’s bleak, it’s not too hard to watch. Some parts drag a bit, and the acting feels dated, but it still delivers a strong message. A solid, if slightly slow, look at the consequences of war."
Under the Silver Lake (2018) - Rated 26 Feb 2025
