Spoiler alert: The portrayal of the hallucinations was excellent. There were so many subtle signs. The show was also absolutely heart-wrenching, especially the last episode.

I loved the drama and themes of this season. I loved how it focused on greed, the inability for people to give up their wealth, and what it means to live a fulfilling life through the setting being in thailand, where Buddhism is prominent, at a wellness resort.

The use of the plot for social commentary felt a bit contrived but I did like the messages conveyed about the ethical issues of tourism and colonization.

Squid Game - Season 2 (2024) - Rated 24 Jun 2025

The final episode was incredible, even though the previous episodes were a bit predictable. I loved the ethical dilemmas presented throughout this season. They make the viewer wonder if the MC is truly a hero or really an anti-hero. I also love how this season showed more of the lives and work of the shooters who help direct the games, making them appear more human beyond their masks. The show also made me wonder if I would rather be a player in the games or one of the masked shooters.
