Hamnet
Hamnet (2025) - Rated 26 Dec 2025
Slightly lost its way in the middle, but i cried for much of this along with the rest of the audience I was with at the Hackney Picturehouse. And really started crying at the end. Really good peformances. Mescal sometimes can feel underpowered/too subdued. It's reassuring to see he can bring it when he wants to, but directors don't seem to ask him to dial it up enough

Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer (2023) - Rated 21 Jul 2023
Amazing. Great score, with haunting synth. Fantastic cinematography. Nolan the best director for this. Murphy, well-suited. Incredible performances, some of the best by these actors: Nolan an even better director than I thought. Great storytelling, drama. I rewatched it and realised Nolan had dealt with Oppenheimer's martydom more intelligently than on first viewing, and many callbacks, as well as clever camerawork

Incredibly well executed. Really engrossing. You're immersed all the way.

Go see at the loudest cinema you can. Similar in realism to the opening of Saving Private Ryan and United 93.

The Running Man
The Running Man (2025) - Rated 21 Nov 2025
Saw at the Imax, good world-building and engrossing. Very different from the original in plot and style. Surprised it wasn't busy and bad reviews. It's throwaway but an entertaining time. Much better at the cinema: go see it!
