"Going into viewing Ghostbusters, there were two things working against it for me: I typically don't watch many comedy movies any more and I very much loved the original. Overall, I enjoyed it. I laughed plenty, I thought the effects were decent, and McKinnon was hilarious (as was the rest of the cast, to a lesser extent). I wouldn't re-watch again and again like I do with the original, but this was a worthy reboot and undeserving of the hate it got pre-release."

"All around great acting, but this film tried to be too damn cute."

"Ralph Breaks The Internet is basically an all-around better version of The Emoji Movie, with a lot of extra Disney flair thrown in. I found myself laughing often. The littlest kids might be a bit scared near the end."

"I loved the setting and enjoyed the fun vibe, but otherwise this was a pretty ordinary romcom (not my favorite genre to begin with). Eleanor was written to be almost too villainous. I would've enjoyed this more if it was a buddy film with Rachel and Peik Lin front and center."
|80 46%||The Grinch (2018) - Nov 18, 2018
"The bad: This is just the original TV special blown up and dragged out just long enough to make it feature length. The good: It's beautiful, provided plenty of laughs, and I really appreciated Cindy Lou as a character my kids could look up to. The in-between: I like Cumberbatch's Grinch voice, but I think he would have been more effective with his natural accent."

"It was pretty dang good, though it definitely felt like "Oscar bait." Gaga and Cooper's chemistry shined and the songs were wonderful. Film was a touch long; that could have been remedied with a little more on Maine's dwindling career and a little less on his substance abuse. The scene at the Grammys didn't really feel plausible."

"Pretty good sports movie. The hockey sequences were pretty well done. It uses all of the sports movie cliches: unorthodox coach, teammates fighting, team loses sight of the goal, huge underdog defeating overwhelming opponent, etc. I also thought that it had a pretty long runtime for a "family" movie. My younger kids got bored after awhile a couldn't appreciate the Cold War reality of the film."

"Decent story, good message, nice animation. I went in knowing very little about the movie, so the songs were a nice surprise. Corden's and Common's songs were pretty great. Although, ENOUGH JAMES CORDEN IN KIDS MOVIES!"
