45 0% The Aviator (2004) - Rated 28 Aug 2009
"Goes on forever. Never seems to end. There is no point or emotional attempt to connect to the watcher. Instead it is a movie that barrels through the story of Hughes without explaining the meaning or purpose."
90 60% Man on Wire (2008) - Rated 28 Aug 2009
"A fantastic documentary that unfolds even though you already know the ending. The movie ends up being more about relationships then the actual wire walker's task which makes the movie much more complex in the end. Also, knowing that he succeeds takes away some of the anxiety, yet it's amazing to see how it was possible."
50 20% Dead Alive (1992) - Rated 28 Aug 2009
"At one point a woman's ear falls melts off her face and then she eats it. It's a love story, it's about zombies, and so much blood squirts out of the screen there's a chance it could get on you. Funny though. If that's what you're into."
98 80% Up (2009) - Rated 28 Aug 2009
"About fifteen minutes into the film there is the most beautiful montage which represents Carl (The old man who decides to go on a adventure using balloons to life his house in the air) and his wife's entire relationship. That was the first time that I cried. This movie is beautiful and touching. Though animated it touches on human emotions in the way that many non animated films cannot do. It shows that you can combine stunning animation with making someone want to cry."
80 40% Sunshine (2007) - Rated 28 Aug 2009
"Initially gripping, the movie starts to waver towards the end as the plot heads in a ridiculous direction. Visually the movie is engrossing throughout. The spaceship they live on is gritty enough to be believable but still keeps true to the science fiction we are used to. As the movie goes on the stunning images of space are not enough to make up for the plot. Sometimes it felt like Danny Boyle got too excited and rushed the ending, erasing much of the meaning from the film."
