"Underrated for a Hitchcock film. The movie itself is a masterclass on building tension, as one might expect from the master. A lot can be made of the hollowness of the ending, and if one treats it as a classic Hollywood happy ending then it's sure to cause some disappointment. Instead, I choose to perceive the end not as a happily-ever-after but instead a perpetuation of the unease and uncertainty of the preceding narrative - and as such I find it quite fitting."

"I'm rather shocked at how much vitriol this film has stirred. Raquel Welch is stunning in the title role and the film definitely makes some interesting choices that at least make for an engaging watch. It's still not a particularly good movie, for a number of reasons, but I don't hate it."
