Come and See is an absurdly loud and overwhelming audiovisual ordeal. Almost every minute feels like torture. In its subject matter, its performances, and in the way the film is constructed. It is deliberately exhausting, chaotic and deeply unpleasant to watch.

Yes, it shows the madness of a total and senseless war. It shows barbarity, seemingly endless cruelty, and the psychological insanity that grows out of it. It also exposes a very basic aspect of human nature: the instinct to survive at almost any cost.

There is no denying the power of what the film is trying to communicate, but that does not make the experience any easier. For me, Come and See is an extremely difficult film to endure.
Less something to watch than something to survive.
Mini Review: Come and See is an absurdly loud and overwhelming audiovisual ordeal, constructed to be so deliberately chaotic and unpleasant that almost every minute feels like torture. It undeniably captures the madness of a total and senseless war, exposing endless barbarity, psychological insanity, and the raw human instinct to survive at any cost. Despite its undeniable power, it remains an extremely difficult experience to endure, feeling less like something to watch than something to survive.
