A delightful black comedy/noir-hitchcock mishmash supported by a great couple at the forefront. Entire thing works because of the dynamics they have together. You can tell husband still has the remnants of affection for the wife the wife wants the husband to change his ways but is so far gone in challenging that in anyway that is close to reasonable. They’re both after their own devices at all times both selfish but husbands is more for material things and the wife is about obtaining a sort of spiritual morality by monetary means. Right when you begin to support the husband as the disdain his wife feels for him is so far out of line that you can’t help but empathize with him only for him to commit an act even worse than hers but it’s all for laughs it’s all very obvious and teaches us a cinematic lesson about who to root for and why that’s not necessary in all forms of cinema. Great ending.
