Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie
We live in the era where there isn’t much good comedy jokes as the forefront of storytelling is long gone but the comedy we do have (at least for a certain section of online folks of which I’m not afraid to say I’m in line with for the most part) is a certain brand of obnoxious self obsessed self referential ironically detached meta narrative and heck if you’re gonna embrace it you might as well be the best at it. This works because there’s a certain level of admiration for the earnestness. A love of dedication to a bit. I could see if you didn’t like this brand of humour that this would be a horrendous watch just because all the jokes are in the same realm but I dunno I love this stuff. So many little nods to keep you on the line before these large set pieces. Where you have to wonder in the same way we thought about Buster Keaton many moons ago “how are they doing this?”. Has a very Canadian sense of humour that is able to be loved by all but it still is very just for laughs GAGS coded when they’re maneuvering the streets.
