The Wild Party

There’s some interesting things gnawing at the edges of this but they’re never fully realized. For something that wants to be so bombastic and exposing about the history and seediness of Hollywood/myth making and filmmaking it’s just quite dull. Never has a movie that looked so lush in in parts looked so unsexy and not in a way that was purposeful just seemed like the director was incapable of recognizing what was actually interesting. Everything felt like it was at odds with each other. Fun lead performance and it did have a nice stylistic eye even if it was utilized by the wrong means.
