My Spy

An action comedy that tries to balance humor and emotion, but fails to stand out in either field. Although the lead duo has acceptable chemistry, the simplistic script and the predictable situations make the film more forgettable than entertaining. The attempts at humor don't always work, and although there are flashes of well-choreographed action, they are overshadowed by a narrative that doesn't surprise. With a plot that combines familiar elements and touches of violence, it seems destined for a young audience, although perhaps with a tone somewhat out of tune for it to be fully childlike.
