All About Lily Chou-Chou

This might be the first movie where I honestly don't even know what to say. All About Lily Chou-Chou is a very long and very chaotic coming-of-age film that has so much fucked-up shit in it that I can't even break it all down logistically. The whole movie is told out of order and revolves around bullying and an obsession with the fictional artist Lily Chou-Chou. This is a powerful film that utilizes a lot of frenetic editing and colorful visuals. I would call it messy, but I think that's kind of the purpose. This is a heartbreaking film that I'm still trying to wrap my head around. I think I'll need to watch some video essays before revisiting this to fully appreciate what it's going for.
