Oh wow, this was the perfect movie to watched after the last one!

You see... Art takes on many forms and this film captures one of the most taboo artforms out there! Body modifications!

I don't even know where to begin with this one but I adore this movie. Katharine Isabelle is a wonderful lead in this and basically makes the whole movie! She brings this very unique calm charm but also has this terrifying presence. I only really know her from minor roles but she was great in Bad Times at the El Royale. (Awesome movie by the way!) All of the other characters were great and I loved Tristan Risk as Beatress in this. Very goofy stuff from her!

I love how darkly humorous this is but how it plays everything as straight in the actual story. There's so very horrific stuff in here that I was surprised by, but I felt this film managed to bring the tone back to great levity. I can totally understand why this would not be for everyone. It's certainly a rough watch at time. Honestly though, I like that this movie does not shy away or pull any punches. I found to be a very effective film.

Expect a huge breakdown on this in the future. I'm not up for another massive review after the last one and I really want to see this again before I do over 5,000 characters on this but it will be coming! Do not fret!

The last spoiler free thing to be mentioned is how pretty this film looks. Every shot is beautiful and the craft on display just gives me shivers! I love the use of color in this. The whites, blacks, and reds definitely pop in this and I might to analyze this film from a color theory perspective.

Here I was thinking I was going to get something like American Psycho, but instead, I got a "Bloody Mary"!
Mini Review: I don’t even know where to begin with this one, but I adore this movie. Katharine Isabelle carries it as a lead, calm charm with a terrifying edge. I mostly know her from smaller roles, though she was great in Bad Times at the El Royale. Tristan Risk as Beatress is wonderfully goofy. The film balances dark humor with a straight-faced story, and some moments are genuinely horrific. It’s a rough watch and not for everyone, but it never shies away, which makes it very effective.
