Ballad of a Soldier
I watched this because someone said this was the last movie Denji and Makima were watching in the Chainsaw Man movie and although the similarities in this were actually sparse, this was still a pretty good movie!
The war scenes in this are among the best I have scene and are right there along The Human Condition. (Both films came out in 1959!)
The rest of the film was a pretty good adventure film with a lot of wholesome moments.
Even the romantic moments were really good, and there's a lot of subtlety!
This seemed to run a bit long for a film that's only 90 minutes long but I liked the ending!
