If you told me at the beginning of this film that this would become my favorite mystery movie, I would not have believed you. And yet, here we are. I don't think I have ever seen a mystery movie quite like this, where the "mystery" and the crime itself already have all the answers given to you, yet it still unfolds into one of the most satisfying endings ever. To that, I have to say:

Eat your heart out, Rian Johnson! You could never write something like this!

Honestly, I was pretty bored during the first ten minutes or so. Then, when they started planning the murder so early in the movie, I immediately knew their plan would not succeed. Without spoiling anything beyond the first twenty minutes, the rest of this movie becomes an excellent cat-and-mouse game with one of the best detectives I have seen since Columbo and Sherlock Holmes.

Eat your heart out, Benoit Blanc! You could never solve a mystery like this!

Yeah, this movie is damn near perfect with its twists and turns. The acting is fantastic, and I love the pacing. Information is revealed at the most dramatic moments without ever disrespecting the intelligence of the audience. (Cough cough, Glass Onion...)

I was so surprised by how this movie unfolded that I was glued to the screen, waiting for the other shoe to drop. But I think I might have gotten more than I was asking for. Perhaps even a key to the mystery...

Anyway, this gets my full recommendation and might actually be my favorite Alfred Hitchcock film!

(Oh, and if you want me to tear apart the Knives Out movies, I absolutely will. The first one is easily the best, but they all have their major faults. Let me know if you want a deep dive!)

Remember: you can always Dial D for Dr. Necrow!
