Final Destination 3
Yeah, so this would be my favorite of the three, and if you guessed it, good job! Honestly, this would be an 8/10, but this movie has a secret weapon! Mary Elizabeth Winstead!!! I love her too much for my own good, and she makes every movie she's in better! Besides my super ultra mega crush on her, she's objectively a great actress and brings a light airiness to all of her roles that's so refreshing. Wait, what movie were we talking about again?
Oh right, Final Destination 3!
Yeah, I like this movie a whole lot. Some of the CGI is a bit wonky at times, but it was decent for a low-budget horror movie. The kills were masterful in this, and even though I knew everything that was going to happen, the suspense was still palpable. Even though some characters were not the best, I enjoyed all of the acting, with Kris Lemche as Ian McKinley standing out and being my favorite character if Wendy Christensen, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, didn't exist! Kris Lemche gave a truly complicated performance and reminded me heavily of Glenn Howerton from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. (Which is my favorite show!)
The rules are still very goofy in this, but I enjoyed how Death and his predictions were set up. I think there's a cool factor to this one too because it feels like the most well-made movie in terms of cinematography and writing. I'm probably not going to watch the other two movies soon since they are not on Tubi. I will try and get to them in October, though.
Ewan McGregor is a very lucky man. 10/10
