Oh my god, this movie was a wild ride and definitely an improvement over the last two movies by Rick Bota.

The cast is stacked with Khary Payton, who plays Cyborg in Teen Titans, Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, and Lance Henriksen, who plays Bishop in Alien. Quite honestly, they make this movie super fun, and you can tell all the actors in this were having a blast. The only exception is Christopher Jacot, who plays perhaps one of the worst characters ever made. Words can't express how infuriating his character is. He's a major douchebag whom the movie tries to make us believe is a hero by the end, but all he does is bitch and doesn't do anything.

Beyond the acting, this is a pretty goofy movie, but it has the best practical effects and CGI of the Hellraiser movies. I think it helps that this movie is so charming that I give a lot of things a pass. There are some dumb twists and turns, but fortunately, this movie doesn't pretend to be so serious. It's an enjoyable ride through and through and is the only Rick Bota movie that's worth watching.

Oh, also, this is the first movie since Hellbound: Hellraiser II that doesn't introduce any new lore. I wouldn't call this a return to roots so much as a movie that respects what the Cenobites are and doesn't make fools out of them. Because this movie was so fun, I'm putting it in the top five Hellraiser movies so far.

Mini Review: Oh my god, what a wild ride! This is a huge improvement over Rick Bota’s last two movies. Khary Payton, Henry Cavill, and Lance Henriksen make the cast a blast, though Christopher Jacot plays one of the most infuriating characters ever. He’s a douchebag the movie somehow wants us to see as a hero. The goofy charm, great practical effects, and fun twists make its flaws easy to forgive. Best of all, it respects the Cenobites without adding new lore. It’s easily a top-five Hellraiser for me so far!
