Where to even begin with this one? It's truly one of Kurosawa's grandest epics almost feeling like bridge between his films of Throne of Blood and Ran. The spectacle on display here is beyond amazing and entirely enthralling. I love just how colorful this is and all of the costumes and sets. I adore how this is based on real events and also takes place somewhere in time where the TV show Shōgun was set in. The only flaw I have I have with this this is that it could have been cut down a little in the runtime. It felt like ten minutes could have been cut out from better efficiency. I still love this and will be watching it again eventually, and I hope that I will find more to appreciate from it!
