As usual, Hirokazu Kore-eda makes excellent characters and knows how to bring up the most profound emotions in me. On the other hand, I feel a lot his movies have bad pacing and this one plainly exemplifies that. This movie is so boring and by the time anything interesting happens, the scene cuts or the movie ends.

I had a lot of time to think about how grief has affected me in my own life and how other movies have captured that feeling way better. The first movie that comes to mind is Three Colors: Blue. Maybe this was supposed to be a slow contemplative film, but I could not stand how slow this was.

There is something outstanding about this film and is why I actually like this movie. The sound track in this might be one of the best film soundtracks I have ever heard. It elevates this movie into something profound and even though I was upset with this, I can't say I felt my time was wasted. The sound track in this is amazing and I will add some of the songs to my playlist if I ever want to feel sad.
