It's spooky month! Now it's time for spooky movies! I decided to watch mostly vampire movies, Twin Peaks (And maybe other Universal monster movies!)
This film review is dedicated to my Letterboxd friend HorrorSage for the recommendation!
WOW
This movie was very interesting! It's quite unique by vampire movie standards because it's never really confirmed if there ever was a vampire and it kept a certain friend on the phone a mystery. I think that's probably the coolest part of this film!
It's a bit slow at the start, but it also begins with what I am pretty sure is a murder after he said he would not going to hurt a woman on a train. Yeah, "going down the river" as they say is a pretty quick way to die. It was probably a good meal for him, but damn, I don't think she's going to be okay...
Anyways, I love this because it's a character study and a lot of this reminded me of the very dark 1983 German film called Angst! The home invasion scene in particular was pretty entertaining to watch, I love movie characters that bumble around realistically while they commit crimes. It's haunting because it feels so earnest, but also kind of funny in a dark way.
Anyways, I had to make this a spoiler review to give my full thoughts. The ending is legendary and surprised me in an extremely good way. I will need to watch this film again! :D

Mini Review: WOW! This movie was fascinating! Unique for a vampire film since it’s never clear if a vampire exists, keeping a friend on the phone mysterious—the coolest part. Slow at first, but it opens with a likely murder despite his promise not to harm a woman. I loved it as a character study, reminiscent of the dark 1983 German film Angst, especially the home invasion. Haunting, darkly funny, and the ending is legendary—I'll watch it again!
