What an absolutely beautiful film! I love my character studies and it was such a joy to go though this reflective meditate journey. Koji Yakusho has quickly become one of my favorite actors. He keeps popping up in a lot of films I like and he is amazing in everything. I think this is one of those movies where I watched it at the right time in my life. It's amazing how stopping and appreciating the little things can soothe ones souls. This was a very emotional ride for me but I loved every second. Please give this a watch!

"Komorebi" is the Japanese word for the shimmering of light and shadows that is created by leaves swaying in the wind. It only exists once, at that moment.

This is the second time I have watched Perfect Days by Wim Wenders, and all I can say is that this is giving Paris, Texas a run for its money! I adore this movie and it would take so long to break everything down. I love my character study films and the first time I watched this, I was enraptured. Some people might find Hirayama cleaning toilets to be boring, but Koji Yakusho captures this ordinary man with so much soul. Calling me invested would be an understatement as I was so engrossed by his daily routines and rituals. Seeing what he's dreaming about also gets me deeper into his mind. I find that kind of depth very interesting and very few movies can get that level of introspection into a character. I am going to end my review here and keep it short and sweet, but expect my third review to be really long and passionate!

Anyway, this is my 400th movie this year and is part of a massive challenge I am doing. Wim Wenders is amazing and I started a ranked list of his movies finally! Also, I got that Odyssey review done as promised and I would love it if you could read it all and leave a comment. I worked really hard on it. Cheers everyone, I hope you all have the perfect day!
