A long time ago, I watched this series to Episode 3 and dropped it so fast. I hated the animation, characters and thought this was predictable slop. Well over a decade later and seeing the third movie is in the Letterboxd top 250, I would decided to skip the show and just watch the movies to save time and perhaps my sanity.

My feelings on the first 3 episodes content remain the same but then a new character (Sayaka) comes in and the show shifted into something a lot better. Everyone was wrong, the show does not start in episode 3, it would have started in episode 4 or 5.

However, there's still a lot of cringe, and I am not too sure what to think about what this series has to say about suicide, but I must admit that I can see where it's coming from and I actually quite like how this show portray nihilism.

The ending to this movie really hit hard and makes me want to continue out of curiosity and not obligation. I will say, however, that I still think this could have been a lot better.

Let's see what the next movie has in store for me!
Mini Review: Dropped the show after Episode 3 years ago—hated the look, characters, and thought it was predictable slop. Now, over a decade later, I skipped the series and went straight to the movies. Still some cringe, but once Sayaka shows up, it actually gets good. I like its take on nihilism, though the suicide themes are messy. The ending hit hard, and for once, I want to keep going out of curiosity, not obligation.
