Sphere
This is a dense movie and I mean it in both terms. It's convoluted complicated film and I think it's stupid. There's a lot to like in this one but there's just so many stupid things in it.
Here's a short example: Apparently it's super easy to go out of the ship into another ship and get into the sphere but putting a suit back on from the hatch to go pick up an egg a couple feet from the hatch is too much to do.
There are many of these logical errors and all of the deaths in this were stupid not because of dumb characters but utter nonsense! Another thing that just makes me curious is the entire set-up. Who thought any of this would be a good idea with this little amount of funding.
I might rewatch it, but the ending to this just felt like a confusing slap in the face. This might get a lower rating if the video essays I watch on this make it worse.
Just watch the movies The Abyss or Underwater instead!

Mini Review: convoluted, overcomplicated, and honestly pretty stupid. There’s good stuff here, but the sheer amount of nonsense drags it down. It’s somehow easy to jump between ships and reach the sphere, yet putting a suit on to grab an egg a few feet away is impossible. The film is full of these lapses, and the deaths feel like pure nonsense. The whole setup makes no sense either. The ending felt like a confusing slap, and a rewatch might make it worse. Just watch The Abyss or Underwater instead.
