This is a bit slow for my tastes at first, but the main thing I hated about this is how The Criterion Channel refuses to give it subtitles. A couple of the characters in this speak with very rough accents, and it was hard to follow along at times. That's not to say that this was a bad movie at all, though, and I actually loved the premise of this.

Dennis Hopper and Bruno Ganz are amazing, and the conspiracy they pull together is really exhilarating. The actual murder when it happens is also probably my favorite part of the film, but I don't want to spoil the scene or the context of it. In fact, as soon as it happens, I enjoy this movie a whole lot more, and there's a scene on the train that is well worth watching this movie for!

This movie is shot really well, and I enjoy how muted all the colors are, but there's warmth and vibrancy when it's needed. My friends here who enjoy color theory would enjoy the reds and yellows in this!

By the end, I was actually really surprised by how much I loved this. I know this has over 84,000 views on Letterboxd, but this is a bit of a hidden gem. Give it a watch if it interests you!
Mini Review: This was a bit slow for my tastes at first, and my biggest issue was Criterion not providing subtitles. Some characters have very rough accents, making parts hard to follow. Still, I loved the premise. Dennis Hopper and Bruno Ganz are fantastic, and the conspiracy they create is exhilarating. The murder scene is my favorite part, and the train sequence is absolutely worth watching. The muted colors with bursts of reds and yellows also look fantastic. Give it a watch if it interests you!
