The Hidden Fortress

What an absolutely charming adventure film! I loved every minute of this and did not really eve feel the runtime until the last 10 minutes. This is my second movie by Akira Kurosawa and I can't wait to watch more!

It's my second time watching this and I just absolutely adore this film! It's crazy how a 140 minute film can go by so quickly but this is just paced so well, it's insane! This movie is also really funny and so entertaining. It's a lot more grand in scope then something like Rashômon, and has some really cool large battles. The cinematography in all Kurosawa films are fantastic! All of the characters are great but there's two stand outs! Toshiro Mifune as always is a legendary actor and I love seeing him on screen in everything he's in! Misa Uehara as Princess Yuki is fantastic in this and may be one of my favorite female characters in film! One of these days, I would love to do a deep dive on this film and write an extra long review, but today is not that day. There's too many things to list about this great film so I hope this short review is good enough to show my passion for it!
