The Hitcher
I decided to watch this on a whim because the Dead Meat Podcast covered it. I believe this is the first film they’ve covered that isn’t outright a horror flick.
Quite honestly, this psychological thriller really surprised me! It’s intense, unpredictable, and just plain awesome. There are quite a few car chases in this one, and all of them are epic. The rest of the action is standard ’80s action, but it’s filmed in a really interesting way. The highlight for me, though, was just how suspenseful it was. I had no idea what would happen next, and that kept me invested for the entire runtime. Rutger Hauer did a great job playing a crazy psychopathic hitch-hiker and I loved mostly everything about this film!
