The Lodge
6/27/2026:
I was really excited for this movie after it started and thought it was going to be a Hereditary for Christians, but instead I got a boring slog of a film. I felt like nothing was really happening until the ending. I understand what it's trying to do, and there's a lot of good craft in the camerawork, but I was dreadfully uninterested for the majority of its runtime. Riley Keough is the highlight and easily the best part of the movie, but I felt the rest of the characters didn't do enough to elevate her performance as much as she deserved. I don't know if repeat watches would help, but I guess I might as well give it another shot on January 9th!

Mini Review: I was really exited for this movie after it started and thought this would be a Hereditary movie for Christians, but instead all I got was a boring slog of a movie.
