The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
10/19/2023:
Even though the first one had it's faults, this one is worse and... weirder... I like the main girl but that sheriff might me the craziest character that's not the "bad guy" I have ever seen. I think this is the most brutal of the first two and I thought this had a good balance to horror, charm, and ridiculousness!

I like this a little bit more on a rewatch. It's pretty brutal, has a great final girl, and is really funny. However, I still feel a lot of tonal whiplash with this one and am not too sure how this really fits in with the others as a slasher. Is it a meta thing, or is it just supposed to be a weird movie? The first movie felt really grounded, and any silly moments were from how absurdly bleak it was.
I still have no idea what to think of the cop character in this or anything to do with the ending. Everything just feels so out of place in a way where I don't know if I should call this crazy or genius. Oh well, not too much to say about this one.

Mini Review: I like this a little more on a rewatch. It's brutal, funny, and has a great final girl, but it's also so much weirder than the first. The sheriff might be the craziest character I've ever seen who isn't the bad guy. I still don't know what to make of the tonal whiplash, cop character, or ending. Is this meta, crazy, or genius? The first felt grounded, while this feels completely out of place.
