Thinner
Wow, this movie is not only boring and involving a non-issue of a horror, but it's also extremely offensive. Imagine the worst stereotypes of Italian and Romani people, and that's basically the whole plot of this movie. A fat dude gets cursed by a Romani person, and the whole movie is a slog of stereotypes while this man gets thinner.
Now, it would be one thing if the movie were self-aware or played for a purpose, but the racism and cultural insensitivity are just plain awful. It's hard to enjoy this movie past all of that, but just like this movie when stripped bare, there's nothing else. Even the fat jokes are tasteless, and everyone just treats every type of person like they're scum. No one's honestly safe in this movie. It makes light of all that, but also of cancer patients, homeless people, and women.
Whew, this was overall just a really bad movie that was more offensive than I possibly could have imagined. Oh well, writing this and warning people was probably the best part of it. Luckily, the next movie I'm watching looks fun and actually fun.
