Blue Moon
Contained and claustrophobic, but sort of fascinating one man show for Hawke’s evocation of an ageing and desperate Hart. While it never quite elevates itself above an interesting exercise, and might be a reminder of how much better the conversing was in the BEFORE trilogy, there’s still a lot to enjoy here, with Cannavale having fun as a sardonic bartender, and Qualley about as ideal as anyone as an untouchable fantasy figure. Hawke brings a sad poignance to Hart that makes the character far more bearable than he must have been in real life!
