I’m torn, because while I feel I could score this higher, I also can’t imagine ever wanting to endure its snide and slimy tone again, and as Cameron’s smug, pompous arguments veer dangerously close to toxic misinformation, which means my moral crusade hackles start to rise! As a once off, it’s so bafflingly wrong-headed on so many levels, that it approaches so-bad-it’s-fascinating – as Cameron the avowed Christian argues vehemently to embrace the tacky, consumerist aspect of the holiday, while simultaneously pretzling himself to find readings of the scriptures to endorse his views, I’m left sitting in my seat saying “are you having a laugh?” I was certainly laughing at the flop-sweat that snuck in at 62 minutes as Doane and Harvey realised they didn’t have a feature length film, and that it would be appropriate to launch in to a 10 minute “hip” rendering of “Angels We Have Heard on High”! Worth experiencing once!
