Marty, Life Is Short

A gentle, charming and sincerely touching portrait of Short, which tracks the ups and downs of an eclectic career, and a quietly tragic personal life. Probably more notable for the wide array of celebrity friends who comment and appear (the sequences of Spielberg filming home movie accounts of Short’s get togethers are worth the price of admission alone), and while Short himself is a charmer, you can’t help but walk away thinking this portrait might be a little short on substance. Still, if you’re at all a fan of Marty, it’s tough to be too critical.
