It’s odd the unexpected moments that pop out at you occasionally to prompt a “fuck this movie”. My moment came here when a head trauma victim started rubbing their head randomly on windows and door frames, leaving a vividly bloody and gruesome trail behind them. Not funny, kind of gross, and not motivated by any sense of comic timing or momentum and showing a hefty degree of contempt for its audience. I’ve reached a point of maturity where I have no beef with Kutcher, and the idea of he and Reid in a gross-out comedy with Stamp in the wings (directed by THE NAKED GUN’s Zucker no less!) was an appealing one, but this negates all of that by limiting Stamp to little more than a cameo, and then keeping Reid and Kutcher separated for most of the movie, while the likes of Shannon and Koechner are reduced to screeching at each other to mine for laughs. Holding out hope for a genuine remake of MEET THE PARENTS with Kutcher and Stamp, which would have worked miles better than this stale, overheated garbage.
