Leisurely paced almost-two-hander (Davidovich is fine, but really surplus to requirements) almost gets away with it, thanks to the likable and compelling performances from Harrelson and Banderas, who find a nice easy chemistry with each other and establishing the ever shifting boundaries of their frenemy relationship; they can’t counteract a plot that is almost non-existent, and some dialogue from Shelton that verges on the ripe self-parody at times (not to mention an odd fixation on homoeroticism/phobia that never really pays off). With 30 minutes of pruning, this could have been a recommendation as a fun bit of nonsense for fans of the stars; depending on your fondness, I could still call it a recommendation on that basis.
