Stomp the Yard
Fill-in-the-blank underdog movie is perfectly adequate for what it is – to contrast with a more typical sports version, it’s difficult to sometimes understand what is at stake and who the “winner” is, because the dance/sport of “stomping” seems to have its own set of arcane rules and standards that more or less went over my head (I couldn’t honestly tell you who won (or why) during the climactic stand-off). Other than that, it’s bland, cookie-cutter and predictable to a fault, but a pretty inoffensive genre example.
