More of a clipped recounting of Chapman’s movements in the lead up to the titular event than anything approaching incisive; Chapman’s motives remain frustratingly elusive, and while Ball disappears convincingly into his role, it’s difficult to care much for him or his plight because of the lack of any sort of rationale by Piddington; you feel he is stuck trying to make sense of the senseless which is a fair position to take, but means the film has a hollow core and an aimlessness which makes it not an especially pleasant experience.
