The Nut Job
Passable but bland animated feature is not a struggle to endure, but is not particularly satisfying either – a fine vocal cast does their best, but too much of this feels like tired and overcooked leftovers from Pixar, Dreamworks etc. It might be difficult for today’s kids to understand how pervasive “Gangnam Style” was at the start of the 2010s, but to build so much of the humour around this in 2014 would have been seen as wheezy and dated, something which as definitely not improved in the intervening years!
