This Is Where I Leave You
Really should have been better and more memorable with such a formidable line-up of stars, though the screenplay has a habit of stranding pretty much all of its female contingent with little to do – to waste Fey, Fonda and Hahn on characters so half-baked they don’t even get their own story threads seems a bit of a shame (though Fonda has a killer punchline reveal for her character). Otherwise, this is a great cast stranded in a familiar sitcom premise, with the menfolk at least 10 years too old to be going through these sort of “growing pain” issues – in that sense, Driver gets a head start and arguably fares best as the irresponsible black sheep. The cast are still fun (especially Bateman and Fonda when she’s allowed to fly) - mild chuckles here and there thanks to the affable cast’s chemistry alone and together.
