Hannah Gadsby: Nanette
The first half of this fell super flat for me. By the end, it enters a different tone and that is interesting. But I still didn’t laugh throughout it. I appreciate it but I don’t think it’s a great comedy special. And I know a massive part of this not clicking with me is because I am not a woman. The reason I say that is Gadsby makes a point to demonstrate how I am not the intended target audience. You may be asking yourself why is your opinion needed here as a straight man and to that I say you’re completely right but I’ve trapped myself into reviewing everything I watch. Basically my stance in this is genuinely meaningless and this is definitely a very important watch for lots of people.
