In the Heights

Haven't seen or heard the show. Seemed like good music and vibrant characters. I think cinematically, if you're making a pre established show into a film, the key drive should be how you imitate the shows energy from a filmmaking perspective and I don't think this film did that successfully. The direction and art direction was veerrryyyy standard and this film was packed to the brim with terrible editing choices and awfully blocked shots. Its a shame because you can tell there's passion but I think in this case the film aspect pulled the theatrical elements down.
