Solid and often fascinating social drama through Mazuy's cryptic, mysterious and enigmatic mise-en-scène. It's curious because it kinda starts like your typical european film on heavily important themes -- let's say, a late Dardenne bros' Cannes filler lol --, only to slowly unfold as an unique character study about an awkward and (falsely) breezy rich white lady trying to take over the life of her 'co-detainee' -- who sometimes she refers to as her friend. Mid section drags and some bits might sound too upfront -- party scene, which I actually like --, but last third feels brilliant -- the art theft that ends their friendship, but ultimately liberates them.
