Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

great script, amazing acting, but lacks the depth it needed for me to truly care for these characters.
sidney lumet's final movie made me feel many things, but what didn't help in that process what the cinematography which i thought was boring, flat and frankly amateurish.
obviously, the movie has great acting. the late, great philip seymour hoffman has rightly earned his place as my favourite actor and certainly does not disappoint, and neither does ethan hawke.
my problems with the film lie in the fact that i feel like even though this is a character-driven film, the characters either aren't set up properly or were not written very well.
also: shoutout to marisa tomei's boobs, for appearing in 3 scenes.
