Secrets & Lies

mike leigh assembled an avengers: endgame level cast to do what is downright probably the best acting i've ever seen from everybody involved. it all feels so real & authentic, every tear, every laugh, every "darling" & "sweetheart". even just hortense's adoption doctor/physician thing does such a good job for what is basically a few minutes of screentime. and if that's just the minor characters, imagine the greatness of the mains. i would also like to compliment the cinematography & gorgeous score, the latter i love so much and i beg for it to be put on spotify. overall a very interesting film, mainly because of the fact that it essentially doesn't have a 'plot' or conventional structure, but i believe that only elevates secrets & lies to even greater highs.
